Where It All Began
Bhumija Holidays was born from a simple observation: travelers were visiting Nepal but not truly experiencing it. They saw temples but missed their stories. They photographed festivals but didn't understand their meaning. They left impressed but not transformed.
We set out to change that. Founded by a team of cultural enthusiasts, historians, and hospitality professionals, Bhumija Holidays bridges the gap between visiting and experiencing. Our name, derived from 'Bhumija'—another name for Goddess Sita meaning 'daughter of the earth'—reflects our deep connection to the land and its traditions.
What makes us different is our roots. While many travel companies offer Nepal from an outsider's perspective, we share it from within. Our team includes descendants of Newari artisan families, scholars of Mithila culture, and guides who grew up in the shadows of the temples they now interpret for travelers.
